Ben oui. Il est temps: le marché de Cannes. C’est bizarre. Nous recevons deux messages diamètralement opposés. D’un côté, on nous dit qu’il y aura moins de monde à Cannes, que les choses vont mal, qu’il y a plus de financement possible pour des films. De l’autre, les rentrées cinéma sont en hausse un peu partout. Et des magazines comme Screen International nous disent que de bonnes idées commerciales trouveront toujours des financements. Est-ce que Tunerz est assez commercial? Nous le pensons, et le succès de F&F IV et là pour nous conforter. D’autant plus qu’il y a déjà trop de films d’auteur qui ne trouvent pas de distribution. Et nous avons aussi plein de chouettes idées pour le distribution une fois le film fini. Donc, oui. On y va avec optimisme. Click through for the English version.

It’s that time of the year again, when film-makers and distributors descend on Cannes to try and find the films that will fill cinemas and sell DVD s over the coming year. What’s strange is that we are getting diametrically opposite messages. On the one hand, people are telling us that there will be fewer people (really? In the middle of a crisis?) and that financing has dried up. On the other is the fact that cinema ticket sales are up again. And magazines such as Screen International are telling us that a good commercial idea will always find funding. There are more than enough art-house films out there. People are being more careful about adding to the pile (about time, too). Is Tunerz commercial enough? We think so, and the success of F&F 4 would seem to confirm this. What’s more, we have cooked up a brilliant plan for the distribution of Tunerz once it’s made. So yup, we’re going with optimism. Get in touch if you want to hook up with us down there.
