Tunerz the movie

Autant je suis fasciné par le potentiel de création des studios américains, autant je suis dépité du peu d’imagination et du manque d’audace dont ils font preuve. Ils avaient le matériel pour marquer un grand coup: un casting, des voitures, un milieu de passionnés donc un marché; mais quelle arnaque! On nous a bien trompé sur la marchandise. On a bien eu droit aux 3 scènes d’actions obligatoires, mais il n’y a plus de rêve, plus d’identification à la cause des tuners. Les rares voitures tunées que l’on entr’aperçoit, au loin, quelques secondes, sont remplacées par des scènes de lesbiennes qui n’apportent rien au film. C’est devenu un banal thriller policier juste bon pour les vidéoclubs. Non, la franchise est morte. Vivement que quelqu’un prenne la relève avec un vrai scénario. “Tuning is not a crime” dit on, mais ce film ne fait rien pour sauver les vrais tuners, qui ne sont pas des voyous. As much as I’m fascinated by the creative potential of American studios, I can also be sickened by the lack of imagination and daring that they can show. In “Fast & Furious”, they had enough material to make a big impact: an impressive cast, cars, a scene that is passionate – and therefore a market. But what a  swindle! We were treated to the obligatory three actions scenes, but the dream is gone, there is no identification with the cause of the tuners. The few tuned cars we see for a few seconds – from a distance – are replaced by lesbian scences that bring nothing to the movie. It has become just another cop thriller worthy of a video club. No, the franchise is dead. I look forward to someone taking up the challenge with a real script. “Tuning is not a crime” they say. This film says nothing about the real tuners that are portrayed as gangsters.
